VOTING IN-PERSON IN CONNECTICUT

If you were unable to register in your home state, or want to vote in-person in Connecticut, you can still register and vote in-person at City Hall. 

New Haven City Hall hours for registration, early voting and day of voting are:

November 1st, 2nd & 3rd from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

November 4th closed

November 5th from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

To register and vote in person in New Haven:

1. Print and complete the mail-in registration form. This is the same form that is required for day of registration. You can also get this form in-person at city hall. 

2. Complete the form with the following:

  • If you live on-campus, use your residential college office address as your residential and mailing address. A list of addresses in on the Mail Info page. You do not need proof of residency/address if you live on campus, just your Yale ID. 
  • If you live off-campus in New Haven, use your off-campus address and bring proof of residency with you. This could be a bill, rental agreement, mail, or any official document with your name and address on it. You do not need a paper copy; digital version on your phone is acceptable. 
  • If you live off-campus outside New Haven, please review the Connecticut student voter guide for information on voting in your town. 

3.  Bring the form and your Yale Student ID (and proof of residency if you live off-campus to New Haven City Hall at 165 Church Street. Go to the second floor Meeting Room 1 (this is not the long line, go up the stairs to the back of the building).

4. There you will register and vote in the same room. If you have any issues regarding proof of ID or residency, ask for Kevin Arnold, Head Moderator, or Dominic Tammaro, Moderator.
